The BASE BUILT Ironman 70.3 Ohio Training Program gives athletes the choice between a 3 month and 6 month training program.  BASE BUILT will be a step more specific than your run of the mill training plan because it is tailored to the results we get from your Lactate Threshold Tests (included in the price).  What this allows us to do as program providers is narrow the intensity of work so you don’t spend any more time than necessary training to complete the 70.3 distance strong, fast, and healthy. Lactate Threshold testing will allow our coaches to evaluate the way your body currently creates energy when performing different intensities of exercise (learn more). Once determined we can tweak the training plan to fit your custom needs. This is a mix of science and convenience! It also takes the guessing out of the training process!  Included in the training plan you will also get 2 x 15 minute video calls with Lauren Updyke, BASE Head Coach and Owner.  All athletes who register will be eligible for our team discounts, apparel, workshops, socials, and other get-togethers.

Things to Consider

  • This is not individualized coaching. Extra consulting time may be purchased at an added expense
  • Testing must be completed before the program begins.
    • January/February for 6 month program
    • April/May for 3 month program
    • Failure to schedule testing during these times will result in a forfeiture of testing
    • We advise against purchasing the plan without testing
    • All plans are non-refundable and non-transferable.
    • All plans, workouts, and any documents/resources provided are the property of BASE Tri Fitness and may not be reproduced without prior written consent of Lauren Updyke.

Athlete Requirements:

  • Athletes should own a road or time      trial bike or be in the process of getting one before the program begins
  • Athletes must have a heart rate      monitor, power meters for the bike are encouraged but not necessary
  • Athletes must be able to run one      hour without stopping
  • Athletes must be able to swim 200      yards without stopping
  • All athletes who sign up for the      program will be required to sign a waiver, health history form (PAR-Q),      and a behavior agreement. We take our reputation very seriously and we      want upstanding athletes who work hard and can represent our community and      team in the most positive light.
