Building on our BASE

If you have followed BASE from the beginning, you know that one of the things LU set out to do was to build a company that focused on doing a few things really well.  BASE has always been a company grounded in applying science to our athletes’ training plans.  In late 2014 we introduced a method of evaluating the aerobic strength of an athlete through our blood lactate testing. We were not only able to improve our athletes’ fitness but we also were able to work with non-BASE athletes in the community helping them achieve their goals with their own coaches! We are excited to announce another huge addition to our company that will not only help improve our in house athletes but the athletic community in Columbus as a whole.

Schill3We are thrilled to welcome Chief Physiologist Kevin Schill to the BASE familyKevin received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from Miami University and Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from The Ohio State University.  In between his two degrees, Kevin worked as an industry scientist in Madison, Wisconsin.  He also assisted in running the Human Performance Laboratory at OSU. His experience at the lab allowed him to interact and work with professional, amateur, and high school athletes across a wide array of sports and athletics.

Kevin will allow BASE to add new tests to our athlete evaluation process.  He will also be building testing services geared toward ALL types of athletes of every level.  Whether you are a general fitness enthusiast who wants their resting metabolic rate tested or a high performing high school wrestler who wants to know how to improve his power, BASE will now be where you can go for that testing.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the team here at BASE! After spending the last few years at Ohio State I’m eager to start applying science to improve athletic performance. I love working with athletes, helping them train smarter and more efficiently.”
